Thanksgiving Blessings

Even though we did not share Thanksgiving Day together, we did in spirit. Each of our families gathered around a meal, gave grace & thanks for the blessings we've had during the past year. Above is my family 1943 (before I was thought of) my grandmother center behind the turkey, and my grandfather on the right. My mom is the first lady on the left, this was before she married dad.

1972 Mission Trip

1972 - Mission trip again to the Valley.... holding VBS classes for children.

I am in first picture with 2 of the boys in school. This is my first remembrance of Mexican dresses!

Next Hcra was teaching a class here, she looks mean but she wasn't.

Group picture - I never noticed until today that Jpen's dress is SINFULLY sheer & short! Jpen, did you let your daughters wear cute clothes like this? lol ***

Dmor was such a ham ruining the shot. Who is the yellow dress next to Jpen, I think it is Stho!?

We went to different destinations in this lovely van. Left to right we have Ccra, Dkee, Brho, Eacu, looks like Chor behind her.

Street sceen has Dcog (hanging onto her is ?Kerry E? ) Eacc, Mmor, Jimmy Moore our Youth Director.

Last is Cfar, she & I roomed together at these folks home. She is at their front door. The home was real nice, and air conditioned.

1972 Spring & Summer Parties

Party every week end! First we have at Ccra backyard Football with Jnan, Lmar, Dmor. Check out those Daisy Dukes on Jnan!

















Then in the house was Hcra (back with hat) , Stho, Rree on the phone!
































We have a little flirting happening in the swing with Stho & Lmar. I always thought that they
were truely in love! Wonder where he is now? Stom will have to tell us in a comment! PLEASE!

Okay, then we have lovebirds Jpen & Cbru (not sure if I am spelling the last name right) ..then

I also was snapped in the hat. This party was before Dmor & I ever dated. Ccra was chasing him then, or visa versa.

We have a small gathering at my house. Dcog, Rree, Ccra, Jnan, & Bsmi - all trying to be cheerleaders?




Here I get involved to make a pyramid. I am crawling on top of Dmor & Bsmi. Dcog thinks she is getting on top of me! lol, dont think it happened.

1970 Atlanta Visit

Fall 1970 Chop & I flew to Atlanta to visit Jkle. It was my first airplane ride, and it was the big one with two aisles.



Top picture is Chop & Jkle singing ...
I remember going to Six Flags, it had the cages that were lifted into the sky. I also remember pine tree forest in her back yard that we took a walk and almost got in trouble.

Next - I must have jet lag .... and the style is PLAID ! lol

I threw this in for fun: my room in 1970... Robert Redford on the ceiling.

1971 Summer Mission Trip

1970 Mission trip - SHBC youth went to Brownsville via bus. I was assigned to this small church with Hcra (sitting on steps with children) and a few other guys. We did neighbor-hood VBS Vacation Bible School that week. Next group picture in the playground has Hcra in the middle, looks like Jhar in the background but not sure.

I remember walking the neighborhood going door to door inviting children to our VBS ... most all the small homes had their door and windows open ... one house we walked up to , when the screen door opened, out came a double barrel shot gun. No English! We left real quick, my heart beating outside my chest.

We also toured the area, the following were HOMES in Mexico, I had never seen the like. I remember giving away food and care packages. This nice lady had a pet parakeet on her shoulder.

This last picture is of me and a young girl that was in my class.

1970 Girls Party

Party time - at Tste house, farewell to Jkle moving to Atlanta. I guess I didnt remember it because I didnt want her to move.

1970 Choir Trip to Houston

On the TEXAS STAR we have Bongo girls:

going clockwise starting at 9:00 we have Jkle, Bbow, Cfar, Jpen & Ccra.

The Bus rides were fanstastic with games, flirting, fun, fun & more fun!

First we have Cfar styling in her shades. Then lookie at Dkee!!!!

Jeff was always funny.
